Veterinary Nurse
‘I started on the path to becoming a veterinary nurse a bit later in life having previously worked for insurance companies and housing associations amongst other roles, none of which felt like the career for me.
Whilst volunteering for a local dog shelter in 2016 I got talking to people who worked within the veterinary care industry. This prompted me to undertake some work experience within vet practice and I have never really looked back! I went on to do a diploma in animal management then began a veterinary nursing degree and am due to graduate in July 2021. I enjoy how varied the role is with so many different skills required and no two days the same. It is also hugely rewarding being able to contribute to the health and welfare of all our patients.
I have always loved animals and currently have a 7 year old border collie called Digger. In my spare time I enjoy sport and being outdoors exploring the countryside. My time at work is split between the Poulton, Garstang and Cottam branches and I hope to continue with Lanes Vets following completion of my studies.
